Long Term Moorage

Applications are being accepted for long term moorage although we have sufficient numbers to cover in excess of 5 years (SSI residents get top priority) at the current turnover rate.  Long term moorage under cover of a signed Moorage Agreement is supported at Centennial and Fulford Inner Docks.  Priority is given to commercial fishing vessels.  See the Rates section for fees.  Note that rafting is required and safe passage across all vessels must be maintained.  When a space comes available the next appropriate vessel on the application list will be contacted.

Prior to the signing of a Moorage Agreement, the following documentation will be required:

– Proof of ownership (Transport Canada web site PDF [https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Corp-Serv-Gen/5/forms-formulaires/download/84-0015_BO_PX] provides a 3-page Form 6 Bill of Sale template);

– A copy of the Pleasure Craft License that is in the applicant’s name.  This is required by Federal law if the vessel is powered by one or more motors adding up to 10 hp.  Transport Canada web site [https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-paperwork-paperwork_boat_licence-1898.htm] has the application guide and form.  The License is free and is currently valid for 10 years;

– Liability and indemnity insurance for two million, including wreck removal and sudden and accidental pollution.

– Additionally, the vessel must be able to move under its own power, other than sails or oars; and

Living onboard the vessel is not permitted.

These same conditions apply for vessels applying for Winter Moorage at KANAKA Dock, 1 Oct – 30 April.
